Fox and Lois Garney have been collaborating on ceramic pieces since 1972. They met in the Ceramics Department of San Jose State University where they discovered their mutual love of clay. After graduating with Bachelor of Art Degrees they opened their first studio in Fresno, Ca. There, they produced a line of ceramics that was exhibited in many galleries and gift shops across the United States. Their work has evolved from production pottery to individually hand carved porcelain, which Fox turns on the potter's wheel and they both carve using a variety of carving techniques. Most of their designs are inspired from nature. Their current work is exhibited throughout California and Arizona. They reside in Cambria, California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Artist Statement

"Everything in life has the potential to inspire. Serendipity, artistic interplay, nature and the tactile malleable quality of clay, inspire and carry us along to each finished piece. The "trial by fire" and our humble aesthetic seeking in the throwing and carving form the medium for our work."
